TO FLOAT A START-UP OR SEEK A JOB?


St. Joseph's Institute of Management collaborated with Kanara Entrepreneurs Global and Kanara Entrepreneurs Bangalore for a panel discussion on whether they should startup or seek a job on July 27, 2017.

Kanara Entrepreneurs Global is a non-profit organization founded by entrepreneurs with the objective of supporting, nurturing and guiding upcoming entrepreneurs.

The panel included Dr. Joseph Rasquinha – Co-founder and CEO of BlueLeaf, Mr. Ivan Fernandes - Chairman of KE Dubai, Mr. Roshan D'Silva- Managing Director of Tripvillas Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Kiran Moras – Co-founder of Promptec and Mr. Ajay Fernandes Consultant and Chartered Accountant.

The discussion started with each of the entrepreneurs talking about their experience in establishing their Companies. The panel gave the students a perspective on the role of capital investments and innovations in the success or failure of startups.

Mr. Kiran stressed on how a person needs to be result oriented in addition to adding value to what one does in order to survive. He went on to tell the audience that an idea must be supplemented by a good plan and every detail should be carefully examined while launching a startup . The panel also discussed how today young and upcoming entrepreneurs receive a lot of encouragement through financing and advice on their ideas by angel investors, venture capitalists and various government organizations.

The discussion concluded with the panel recommending the students initiate a startup or join a startup after the completion of their Management course.
