Nine of our SJIM students participated in the Bootcamp organized by the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) of the Ministry of Education. It aimed to enhance the knowledge of students in the areas of ideation, validation, commercialization, sustainability of the business, and securing funding. The selected nine students are Harshith R, Ullekha A, Vidhisha V Raj, Hariharan V, Surekha J, Faiz Mohamed, Vignesh M, Saloni Goenka, and Sathish Kumar.
The students had a great opportunity to meet with the people of diverse background and different institutions of India. One of the SJIM teams made it to the top 12 out of 69 teams that pitched innovative ideas. The bootcamp concluded with pitch mastery sessions and feedback.
Students learnt a number of things which built their confidence to think out of the box and be entrepreneurs. The bootcamp covered topics like
Startup Concepts : Ideation to commercialization, covering IP protection and funding.
• Customer Discovery : Understanding and targeting customer segments.
• Business Model : Building models using the Business Model Canvas (BMC).
• Prototype to MVP : Creating and testing MVPs.
• Commercialization & IP : Scaling and securing funding.
