St. Joseph Institute of Management celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava with great eagerness and delight on 26 November 2021. The chief guest of the day was Dr C.N Manjunath, Professor of Cardiology and Director of Sri JayaDeva Institute of Cardio-Vascular Science and Research. The honourable beneficent has been associated with and operated for the benefits of healthcare and welfare for the people in the society.
The event began with the flag hoisting and a magnificent traditional performance by the yakshagana, followed by a vocal performance by the teaching and nonteaching staff of the institute. The chief guest stressed on the significance of happy life, health, and prosperity in his address. He also spoke about importance of exercise and the impact of increased screen time on the youth. Rev. Dr Oswald Mascarenhas honoured the chief guest with the shawl and garland.
The event witnessed various cultural activities like dance, music which spread a great sense of amusement and merriment among the students. The staff and students payed tribute to Mr. Puneeth Raj Kumar by singing songs of his movies. A slight reminiscence video was prepared and presented to have a glimpse of his life experience. The event wrapped up with the engaging and pleasing sky lantern festival where each and every one implored for peace, reconciliation, forgiveness, and prosperity in life.
