St. Joseph's institute of Management celebrated Kannanda Rajyotsava on 12th November with full pomp and grandeur. The entire campus was decorated in red and yellow, the colors of the Karnataka state flag along with posters of Jnanpith awardees and historical sites across Karnataka. The chief guest for the afternoon was Dr. Sharanappa Dhage, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police Bangalore East. Dr. Sharanappa focused on the importance to have love and pride for the local language and culture and practice it in our daily lives along with motivating students to excell and achieve something meaningful in life through his own life example. The guest of honor was Fr. John Pradeep who spoke about the importance to 'Act global, think local'. The evening included flag hoisting, dance performances, singing, skit, an insight on the formation of Karnataka along with a special performance of 'Dollu Kunitha' the local folk dance form. The evening concluded with local delicacies 'obattu', 'bisi bele bath', 'Mysore pak' and badam milk being served to all.
