As part of their academic curriculum, students from St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) visited Bangalore Milk Union Limited (BAMUL) on 7th July 2025. BAMUL, operating under the Karnataka Milk Federation’s popular Nandini brand, is one of Karnataka’s largest milk unions.
During the visit, students explored the complete dairy processing cycle—from pasteurization at 72°C, cream separation, hygienic packaging, to observing unique practices like curd setting during distribution. They also learned about the special military butter supply unit and witnessed traditional hand-printed Peda production, emphasizing the preservation of quality through artisanal methods.
Organized by Mr Chandrakant and accompanied by Prof.Anand & Mr. Jena. This visit provided invaluable insights into large-scale dairy operations, quality control, and the importance of organized cooperatives in India’s dairy sector.
