St. Joseph’s Institute of Management, Bangalore celebrated its 51 st Foundation Day on Thursday, November 14, 2019. The Chief Guest for the event was Justice Santosh Hegde, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, the former Solicitor General of India, and the former Lokayukta of Karnataka State, and Fr. Swebert D'Silva SJ, Director, St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society. Justice Hegde in his address to the gathering spoke about the need for youth to contemplate and change their mindset in a society that is driven by power and greed. “When I was young I lived in a society which boycotted bad people or committed illegal acts but things have changed very much today, it’s not the same old society in which I lived”, said Justice Hegde. The former judge spoke about the core values of Humanism and Contentment in life, as the solution towards legitimate development of the society, The Foundation Day is held every year to celebrate the Institute’s Jesuit Educational heritage, its continual growth and achievements. The institute also awarded meritorious students for their academic performance throughout the year.
