The Blood donation drive is an Annual event conducted at SJIM to spread awareness among the students. This year the Donation Camp was conducted by the CSR team of SJIM headed by Student Coordinator Prashanth Wilfred D. in partnership with Narayana Hrudayalaya on 3rd Aug 2018.
Dr.Tapti M, from Narayana Hrudayalaya was the Chief Guest for the day. Dr. Tapti has done her MBBS in Biochemistry and Masters in Transfusion Medicine. In addition to that, she has also done her Masters in Healthcare Management from the University of Georgia, USA. She has also obtained her PA C from DeSales University, USA and has received CME in India and USA. Apart from these degrees, Dr. Tapti has also attended various conferences in the field of Haematology and Transfusion medicine. Dr. Tapti addressed the students on the importance of donating blood and how it could save lives. Director Fr. Manoj D’Souza also addressed the students and encouraged everyone to participate in the camp. The camp started at 10:45 am and ended at 04:00 pm.
The event was a great success and witnessed 109 donors, which consisted of students, the faculty and the non -teaching staff.
