SJIM was vibrantly painted in various shades on the 11th and 12th of September’19. It was a celebration of colour, culture and camaraderie. The students adorned ethnic wear exclusively to celebrate Onam as well as to commemorate the presence of the Bavarian students on the campus.
The Shingari Melam (south Indian Dhol) mesmerised the crowd with their energetic and soulful tunes while the beautiful women did Thiruvathira kali (Folk Dance of Kerala).The teachers participated in a lot of fun games that were planned for them to celebrate Teachers Day.Post this was the onasadhya (Love feast or special meals of Kerala served on leaf). The day ended with tug of war and uriyadi games (pot breaking game with a blind fold).
12th September saw a plethora of talent on stage. The day started with the divine performance of the gorgeous dancer and actor, Ms. Rukmini Vijaykumar and the combination of the musicians Mr. BC Manjunath and Mr. Amith Nadig. The very first ‘SJIM’s Got Talent’ was a massive success with a number of participants showcasing their talents. From the profound singers to the alluring dancers, everyone of them fascinated the judges and the crowd. The exquisite German students, too, had prepared a terrific presentation of song and dance for the SJIM crowd. They enthralled the audience with their marvellous performance and entertained them with utmost finesse. After the Talent Show ended on a high note, it was time for the Bavarian and the SJIM students to team up and create a culinary wonder. Yes, you read that right! There was a cooking competition where 4 to 5 teams competed for the first and second place at the competition.
Finally, the day concluded with the prize distribution of the Talent show and Cooking competition winners as well as a valedictory function for the Bavarian students by felicitating them with certificates and a souvenir.
