Interactive Session on Careers in Finance
On 11th January 2019, Mr. Allen Rodrigues spoke to SJIM students regarding career options in the area of finance. Mr. Allen is based in Minneapolis USA and is the Vice President of Wealth Management Solutions at Ameriprise Financial, which is ranked 252 on the Fortune 500 list of companies.

Mr. Allen is an alumnus of the Joseph’s Institutions in Bangalore, and has graduated with a master's in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB). He is also a certified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). He has held positions of Vice President and Director in various domains in Ameriprise. Mr. Allen has 12 years of experience, and specializes in business transformation, reengineering, post-acquisition integration, strategic planning and analytics, web transformation, process improvement in service operations and outsourcing.

The session conducted by Mr. Allen was very interactive. He first explained the different broad careers options available to students who are interested in finance. He and our students then went on to have a very engaging Q&A session in which the students asked him many questions and suggestions.
