On 16-17, February 2024, Utkarsh 2024, SJIM’s Sixth International Conference on the theme “Leading Digital Transformation - Past, Present and the Future” was very well managed by the students of SJIM with support from faculty. A galaxy of eminent practitioners from Industry, shared their thoughts and experiences over the 2 days of the conference.
Mr. Chandrashekhar Bharathi, Managing Director of the Ace Micromatic group inaugurated the conference with his keynote address sharing an overview of why Digital Transformation in the manufacturing sector was important for India to sustain and increase its GDP growth rates. The Guest of Honor, Mr. George Varghese, CHRO, Shahi Exports Ltd shared his perspective on the changes in the field of Human Resources driven by Digital Transformation. During the program, Dr ParthasarathiShome and Prof Vivek Moorthy were inducted as Distinguished Professors of SJIM.
Day 1 of Utkarsh 2024, had senior managers from Gokaldas Exports, AOSmith, Servier India, Adobe, PWC and Volvo sharing their experience of leading digital transformation in their practice areas of Finance, Human Resources, Marketing and Operations. In the post lunch impactful plenary session, Mr. Ankit Sharma, Associate Director at Capgemini Invent shared their experience in helping the digital transformation journeys of their clients. This was followed by another group of senior managers from Wipro Infrastructure, Econfin Global, Quest Global, Schneider Electric, Greaves Cotton and IndusInd Bank sharing their experience of leading digital transformation in their areas of practice.
The panel discussion on Day 1 moderated by Mr. Amit Gupta, Director, XL-Sec Technologies Pvt. Ltd with panelists from Greaves Cotton, Uprise, NTT Data and Biesse India was very insightful on the Impact of Emerging Technologies on a Digital Transformation Journey. The panel discussion on Day 2 moderated by Mr. Alen Aruldhas, GAVP, DCB Bank with panelists from Deloitte, Aditya Birla Fashion and SJIM faculty brought out sharply the Ethical and Social concerns of a Digital Transformation Journey,
Day 02 of the conference was dedicated to research paper presentation. The conference received 64 full papers. Authors submitted their research articles and case studies in the diverse field of management like green economics, Artificial intelligence, circular economics, digitization and many more. In these two days 88 authors from across the country presented their research work under 10 tracks in both physical and hybrid mode. Track chairs moderated encouraging discussions and shared their expertise to improve paper quality with the authors. Post conference, the high-quality research articles that are completed in all respect have been shared with the four SCOPUS journals for their review and possible publication.
Dr Deepika Joshi, Prof Rajendra Desai and Fr OlvinVeigas, SJ as faculty coordinators, Mr Solomon Jonathan, students council and an energetic band of students worked hard to make this conference a successful one.
