On September 17, 2025, St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) came alive with the vibrant celebrations of Tharangam 2025, our very own Onam festival. The event, held at Loyola Auditorium and Xavier’s Hall, brought together students, faculty, and staff to celebrate unity, culture, and joy. Onam Message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Roshan David Pereira SJ
The day began with the rhythmic Chenda Melam that set the festive spirit in motion. This was followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, a graceful Thiruvathira dance, and the symbolic presence of King Mahabali, reminding us of the true essence of OnamStudents from both first and second year showcased their talent through soulful music and energetic dance performances, filling the atmosphere with enthusiasm. The much-awaited Onasadhya, a feast from the kitchens of Kerala, delighted everyone with its authentic flavors of God’s Own Country.
The celebrations continued with Onakalikal—traditional Onam games like tug of war and pot breaking—that brought out the childlike joy and sportsmanship in participants.
Tharangam 2025 was not just a festival, but a beautiful reminder of India’s rich cultural heritage and the value of togetherness.
