Guest Lecture by Fr Dr Jerry Rosario, SJ: Inspiring Students to Make a Difference

St Joseph's Institute of Management (SJIM) had the privilege of hosting Fr Dr Jerry Rosario, SJ, for a thought-provoking and motivational guest lecture at the Business Ethics class. Drawing on his profound insights and experience, Fr Dr Jerry encouraged students to embrace the ethos of Jesuit education and strive to "Make a Difference" (MAD) in their personal lives and society at large.
v The lecture emphasized the unique spirit of Jesuit education, which not only prepares individuals for success but also instills a deep sense of dedication to the marginalized and underprivileged. Fr Dr Jerry reminded students that climbing the ladder of success is admirable, but it must be accompanied by an unwavering concern for those pushed to the sidelines due to historical and structural injustices.

As students of business ethics, he urged them to envision and work toward a world that is ethically genuine, humanly mature, and spiritually sound, transcending cultural and ethnic differences. Fr Dr Jerry’s words left a lasting impression on the SJIM community, inspiring students to carry forward the Jesuit tradition of being "men and women for others."

Fr Olvin Veigas SJ, faculty at SJIM organized the lecture. The event took place on 11 November 2024
