Date: 2026
Venue:St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM)
St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) has re-envisioned its flagship Rural
Immersion Programme as Rural Immersion for Sustainability & Empowerment,
reflecting a deeper commitment to experiential learning, social responsibility, and sustainable
development.
In 2026, the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from 600 MBA students,
conducted in two phases. The first batch visited villages from 28th October to 1st
November, and the second batch from 25th to 29th November. Students were immersed in
the rural ecosystems of Bijapur, Hangal, and Manvi, regions where the Jesuit mission
actively engages in social development initiatives.
Students stayed in village homes and social service centres, embracing community life and
experiencing rural realities firsthand. The immersion was designed not as a visit, but as a
lived experience — fostering empathy, cultural sensitivity, and grassroots engagement.
