In an enlightening session that bridged the gap between academic learning and industry practice, St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) hosted two distinguished leaders from Wipro’s HR Analytics realm. Sumit Taneja, Global Head of Rewards and Analytics, and Tanuj Poddar, Senior Manager of Talent Analytics, led a compelling workshop for the students enrolled in the “HR Analytics for Managers” course.

The workshop aimed to immerse students in the real-world applications of HR analytics, emphasizing how data-driven decisions can significantly impact an organization's dynamics. The visiting experts shared invaluable insights into their problem-solving approaches, focusing on four critical areas that are pivotal in Wipro's HR strategy: Productivity, Costs, High Performers and Talent Supply Chain.

Students had the unique opportunity to work hands-on with actual data sets, a practice that demystified the process of extracting meaningful insights from complex information. This hands- on experience not only enhanced their analytical skills but also deepened their understanding of the strategic importance of HR analytics in contemporary corporate management. Currently Dr. Sridhar and Prof Rajendra Desai teach Business Analytics related courses.
