An AICTE ATAL Sponsored National Level FDP on "Digital Supply Chain for Operational Excellence" was organised from 15th - 25th November 2022. Fifty faculty members from various parts of the country attended the program. The scheduled fourteen sessions were structured to facilitate up-gradation of knowledge and skills on the niche areas of industry 4.0, digital twins, human factor, smart inventory, transportation management system and optimisation of digital supply chain. Domain experts from NITs, IITs, CISCO Systems, NITI Aayog New Delhi, World Bank New Delhi and many others delivered their expertise during the sessions. Dr. Deepika Joshi and Prof. V J Lawrence from SJIM were the course directors.
As a part of the FDP, participants visited Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd.(HCCB), Bidadi which offered them a first-hand experience in implementing theory into practice. Sessions on teaching practice were organized to enhance teaching competencies, individual characteristics and help them become an effective teacher. The key issues of digital supply chain were addressed through a session on case study discussion. Participants worked in small groups to discuss the application of digital technologies in real life supply chain situation. A session on research writing and publication imparted fundamental skills needed to write a scientific research paper for a peer reviewed journals. They were offered with essential insights to disseminate their research work into scholarly journals.
The curiosity generated through the FDP is enriched by gifting a book on ‘Designing Digital Supply Chain’ by Prof.Simchi-Levi to all the participants. Participants appreciated the design of the sessions, choice of resource people, organization of the program and the hospitality offered by the SJIM.
