The one-day workshop on “Leveraging Diversity for Growth-DEI Strategies for the Manufacturing Sector,” held on August 13, 2024, was a significant success, attracting 32 professionals from leading organizations like ITC, Strides Pharma, Sasmos, Raymond, Shahi Exports, Aditya Birla, BIAL, and Lsg Sky Chef, among others. This event aimed to tackle critical DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) challenges within the manufacturing sector and equip participants with actionable strategies to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace.

The workshop featured esteemed resource persons who provided invaluable insights:

Dr. Nazia Memon, faculty at SJIM, led sessions on the fundamentals of DEI and the operationalization of DEI strategies. Sukanya Gopinath & Renjith Gopinath, Lead & HR Manager at Titan, discussed implementing DEI at Titan. Anjali Raghuvanshi, Chief People Officer at Randstad, shared Randstad's DEI strategies. Prakrithi Shetty, Director HR & CHRO at TE Connectivity, highlighted TE Connectivity's DEI initiatives.

The workshop's diverse participation reflected its core values and was enriched by interactive sessions, group discussions, and activities that fostered active engagement. Participants shared best practices and learned practical tools and techniques applicable within their organizations. Beyond the informative sessions, attendees had the opportunity to network, paving the way for future collaborations and knowledge-sharing.

The organizing team, led by Father Olvin Veigas (Finance Officer & Assistant Professor), Rajendra Desai (Director, Corporate Relations), and Dr. Nazia Memon (Assistant Professor), played a pivotal role in the success of this event.
