“Indian Banking in the Digital Era: Technology, Innovation and Contemporary Issues”
on 19 August 2026 at the Loyola Auditorium. The session featured Mr. Pankaj Gupta,
Chief Digital Officer, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, and focused on the evolving role of
technology, digital transformation, innovation, and Artificial Intelligence in banking.
With over 30 years of experience across banking, technology, digital platforms, analytics,
and business transformation, Mr. Gupta shared valuable industry insights on the future of
digital banking.
The session explored six key dimensions of digital banking: Trust, Digital, Transformation,
Ecosystem, AI, and Intelligence. Students learned how digital transformation is reshaping
customer experience, operational efficiency, decision-making, risk management, and
personalised banking services.
The lecture provided students with practical perspectives on the rapidly changing banking
landscape and highlighted the importance of innovation, collaboration, agility, analytics,
and responsible use of technology. It also helped students connect classroom concepts with
contemporary industry practices and emerging career opportunities in digital banking.
