The inaugural session of the 2025 batch of the PhD Program was held at SJIM. There are six scholars currently enrolled in the batch. The session opened with the Director, Rev. Dr. Manoj D’Souza, giving the welcome address, in which he emphasized the importance of quality research at SJIM. He also reminded the new scholars of the heritage of the institute and of the St. Joseph’s group as a whole in Bangalore.

This welcome was followed by introductory comments from Dr. Anantharaman, Provost at SJIM. He took the new scholars through the importance of the research question development and other core ideas associated with the PhD program. Finally, Dr. Anup Krishnamurthy, Dean of Research, covered the program logistics, including coursework, research publication requirements, and so on. The event took place on 12 April 2025
