Ignatian Week Celebration at SJIM

From 21st to 30th July 2025, St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) came alive with vibrant activities, soulful performances, and moments of deep reflection during Ignatius Week — the annual celebration honouring the founder of the Society of Jesus, St. Ignatius of Loyola.

The week began with a dynamic flash mob and the unveiling of the Ignatian banner, setting the stage for a series of creative and thought-provoking competitions, including collage-making, western acoustic music performances, Ignite presentations, creative writing, quiz, and video-making on the theme Finding God in All Things.

The celebrations were enriched by a welcome address from Rev. Dr. Roshan David Pereira SJ, Director of SJIM, who emphasized the importance of Magis — striving for the greater good — and the relevance of Ignatian values in today’s world.

A highlight of the week was the inspiring talk on St. Ignatius Loyola by Rev. Fr. Prashanth Wesley D’Souza SJ, reflecting on the saint’s transformation from soldier to spiritual leader, encouraging students to seek God in all aspects of life.

Midweek, a special Mass for Catholic students brought the community together in prayer and song, deepening the spiritual essence of the celebrations.

The grand finale on 30th July featured an Ignatian-themed choir, the winning video screening, a skit on St. Ignatius’ life, and the debut performance of the SJIM Band. The celebrations concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where Section D emerged as the Overall Champions and Section E Crowned the Maximum Number of Participation award.

The events of the entire week were organised by the students of Campus Ministry under the guidance of Dr. Nirmala Joseph and Mr. Jena S, Campus Ministry In charge.
