St. Joseph’s Institute of Management (SJIM) had the privilege of hosting Prof. S. Vishwanathan, the F.M. Kirby Professor of Investment Banking at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, USA, for a guest lecture. A distinguished academic and researcher in financial intermediation, market microstructure, and corporate finance, Prof. Vishwanathan shared invaluable insights into global infrastructure investment and the role of private equity.

During his session, he emphasized the massive funding requirements for infrastructure projects, including airports, highways, and power plants. He highlighted the growing interest from financial investors in these sectors, given their potential for high returns. Drawing from his extensive experience in academia and consulting, he provided students with a deep understanding of how private equity plays a crucial role in addressing infrastructure investment needs.
