“We are Indians, first and lastly, we are Indians” – Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
On a bright sunny morning, when the birds got out of their nests to stretch their wings out and fly into the bright blue sky, we at St. Joseph’s Institute of Management stood in front of the National Flag and sang in unison the National Anthem, remembering the pledge for Poorna swaraj in 1930 and the many that fought for the liberation of India, our motherland.
The 72nd Republic day was celebrated in the presence of an esteem personality from the Indian Air force, Group Captain Mahesh G Emmi currently tenanting the appointment of Head of faculty of management studies and advanced technologies at The Air Force Technical College, along with the staff and students of the institution. The chief guest addressed the gathering reemphasizing the sacrifice of the many brave souls that ensured freedom for India and all its citizens. The celebration reignited the spark within us as we marched off feeling patriotic and proud of our nurturing mother, India.
