72nd Independence Day Celebration at SJIM


The 72nd Independence Day celebration here at St. Joseph’s Institute of Management was started off by the Flag hoisting ceremony done by Director Rev. Fr. Manoj D’Souza S.J. followed by singing of the national anthem. The host for the day was II PGDM student Vignesh.

The Director gave a short speech on the importance of this Day and the responsibility of the students to uplift their fellow brethren, through concern for the society and the environment. I PGDM student Alvin Divyank Lakra was called upon to talk about what Independence Day means to him, and paid homage to the Freedom Fighters and emphasized the need for sharing responsibility for a progressive India.

The event was concluded with a enthralling mime performance by I PGDM students showcasing the struggles of our Freedom Fighters, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru, and Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. The students interracted with the faculty, and each other over breakfast.
