St.Joseph's Institute Of Management

Placements

The institute has a robust placement cell that has over the years expanded its network among the corporates which is leveraged to achieve nearly 100% placements of our students. The quality of curricular inputs and training provided has ensured that the average pay package has consistently gone up year after year. To make the students realize and utilize their potential to the fullest extent, the institute organizes frequent personality development programs.

We at SJIM, focus on delivering thorough business knowledge to our students, making them industry relevant right from the first day. Companies from different industries and different domains visit our campus and the number of organizations and the compensation has consistently increased over the years. Our highest compensation has been 12 Lakhs per Annum. At least 70% of the companies who visit have recruited from us in the past which talks about the quality of our students and every year there are about 25% new organizations.

In order to groom our students to be corporate ready, the placement cell provides in-house training programs which are designed to sharpen basic business acumen and improve general knowledge. The following are few inputs of the training program:

  • Weekly presentations by students on current topics in Business and Management.
  • Weekly Online Aptitude Tests
  • Workshop on “Facing Interviews & Group Discussions” conducted in small groups
  • Spoken English classes on the Toast Master format

Internship

Internship is a mandatory affair and the placement cell is actively involved in helping the students to work as interns in companies and start-ups. At the end of the first year, students are required to undertake an Industry Internship project in order to correlate the theory that they have learnt to what is being followed in the real life corporate world.

SJIM has an internship model which spans over 8 weeks’ full time during April-May every year. The IIP is completely integrated into the curriculum of the program and carries a weight of 6 credits. The students become eligible for the Final Placements only after successful completion of the Internship. Thus, for the recruiting company, these students have already completed all coursework that is expected from a graduating student.

  • Provide a transitioning bridge between theory and practice for the students.
  • Help forge strong relationships with the corporate for the Institute.
  • Create a longer connect between the faculty and the industry, for assessing the outcomes delivered during the program and to fine tune it to meet industry requirements.
