The simple, yet emotional celebrations were attended by around 60 students, faculty and staff members. The program kicked off with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest of the occasion - Lt. Col. MK. Sushant, Sena Medal, in correspondence with the singing of the National Anthem. The Director, Rev. Fr. Manoj Dsouza, then welcomed the chief guest after which he delivered a short and inspiring speech on importance of this day. Next, a truly wonderful speech on the achievements and struggle of the freedom fighters and our nation as a force to be reckoned with was delivered by Vimarsha B.V, a second year student. The formal program concluded with a sensational patriotic singing performance by the SJIM choir, after which breakfast for all was served.
