The honorable speaker Mr.Nagaraj is the DGM of Bharat Electronics Limited. The presentation shared the technology of EVM (electronic voting machine), the process of it's manufacturing from order to sale and a brief description of the election system, creation of BOM (Bill of Material). EVM was introduced to save trees, increase security, credibility and transparency. There are two parts to it. The ballot unit to cast a vote and the control unit to activate the ballot unit, to control the process of voting and to display the result. This indigenous system is put through 94 acceptance tests, numerous inspections before being deployed. To add a feather to its cap, it was used in Namibia first ever election.
