Student Event Budget 2016
First of this kind, Finance Committee organized an open discussion on the Budget 2016. The discussion started off with Father Peter Xavier addressing the audience followed by an introduction on what is budget and kinds of budget.
All the Students had a common view on this year’s budget that the main focus is on Agriculture, Farmer’s and rural sector’s welfare. The students were placing their views on different aspects of the budgets and its impact.
The issues pertaining to Employee Provident Fund (#EPF) contribution, lower Oil Prices, enhancing private investments, Income tax slabs, Increase in excise duty on luxurious cars, Increase in House Rent Allowance, Interest deduction for house loan and various other key issues were discussed.
The students who participated in the discussion expressed their opinion on how the budget could be different and compared it to the previous year’s budget. There were also students who were a part of the audience and this discussion helped them to get a clear understanding of Budget 2016.
